We lost a great dog today. There has been none like her and I doubt there will be many more. We are very sad that our kids will not know her more.
She was 12 and a half this year. Not young but she still chased the ball like she was 6 months old.
Nikki and I are both very sad. She has been the centre point of our family since before we were a family. She carried us through many a dark day, made us walk when we did not want to and more often run. A champion dog. Devout Buddhist. Olympic swimmer. Great friend.
She has been with me to work more times than I can remember. Be Life and Runners Plus under the desk in a sports bag, Be Challenged sitting at the door waiting to chase a ball, the butcher shop waiting expectantly for the next bone which was only ever a slide of the door away. Today she came to work with me and did not come back, a horrible accident which is going to be hard to forget. She now holds pride of place in our orchard where we will remember the champion she was, her favourite ball at hand.
